Our Living Room Decorated for Christmas

No doubt, Christmas time is my very favorite time of year to decorate! It's like the Superbowl of decorating for me, and the grand finale for the year. It was especially exciting this year after the challenging year we faced with Covid lockdowns, and virtual schooling. I usually spend about 4-5 days completing our interior decor....I know I'm a Christmas decorating freak. My kids actually refer to me as an elf.
This time of year we don't ever dare skimp on adding Christmas cheer to almost every space in our home. We always have at least 3-4 decorated trees up inside our home, and I always start with our main living room tree! I'll share sources for decor below as well.

This year I am definitely guilty of decorating early. I wanted to get our tree up early so we could enjoy it longer. I wanted all the hard work to be complete before December 1st, and I must say it was worth it!

I also always make sure my packages coordinate with my tree (yes these are real gifts not empty boxes if you were wondering).
A new trick I learned this year was to add faux garlands to my faux Christmas tree. I basically draped 4 Studio McGee garlands around my tree, and tucked it in. I connected it in a few spots with floral wire. The dimension it added was incredible! I don't think my photos do it any justice. The different textured leaves really brought my tree to life!
I used the Studio McGee white berry garlands from Target. This garland kept selling out, so if you want to use it I advise getting them early on! You can always use different garlands too! This is an especially great trick if you have a tree that has any gaps you want to fill in.

This year I also added drapes and they really made our living room feel so cozy with the added texture.
I was inspired by West Elm, which is one of my favorite sources for inspiration.
This accent blanket is what I consider an Hermes Dupe (a very similar product to a designer product). The real Hermes blanket is over $1,500! I found this blanket on Amazon for about $60.

I started off decorating with neutrals, golds, champagnes, blacks and whites, then after Thanksgiving I decided to add some festive deep reds. I was especially grateful to have been gifted some gorgeous Christmas decor from one of my favorite stores called Gatehouse No. 1. I felt like it was Christmas when they sent me two huge bags full ! I had no idea they were going to send me so much, and to say I was in HEAVEN is an understatement.

After Thanksgiving, I added touches of this deep burgundy. It reminded me of an old vintage Santa suit. It was the perfect shade to add a festive color.

Her’s one of our cats, Coco Chanel. she loves to photobomb.

Here I am decorating with my new Gatehouse no. 1 ribbons, and below is a family photo!
I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!
